When to use it

Use when the client is in prison and the firm needs a phone call, a video conference or a visit. Do not use it as a medical-records authority, and do not use it in place of the centre's own form.

Used for these tasks

Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.

How AI may be used

The tool may insert the centre, the person's name and the type of contact the lawyer has chosen, and it must not invent a booking rule or attach a medical authority.

AI may

  • Keep one state's booking paragraph and delete the others
  • Ask for a confidential legal conference and give two preferred times
  • Name the lawyer who will attend and the length of time sought

AI must not

  • Must not state the charge, the injury narrative, or a medical diagnosis
  • Must not claim a right to bring a device, or a 30-minute default, in a state whose page does not say that
  • Must not send this letter as Form 27(a) or as the New South Wales professional appointment form
  • Must not ask the centre for medical records. That request uses the health authority

The lawyer checks

  • The person is in that centre on that day. Location is confirmed before the letter goes
  • Queensland: Form 27(a) is current. The booklet says an endorsed form is renewed annually and one approved identification is required
  • Victoria: a video booking is made in the AVL Scheduler, and the practitioner is registered. The page says bookings from 27 May 2026 use Webex
  • New South Wales: the visit is pre-booked by the method that centre's row, or JUST Connect, currently requires. The page's 30-minute screening sentence and the centre timetable are both read
  • The letter goes to the centre's professional-visits address, not to a general family-visit inbox, if the page distinguishes them

Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
