Is this a generative AI policy template?
No. The linked guide lists the decisions a firm writes in its own words. Copying another organisation’s template does not set your tenancy or your court’s disclosure rule.

A manager’s starting point is the firm’s own decisions: who may use a tool, on what work, what must never be pasted in, and who checks the output.
The decision is for one task and one configuration. A catalogue profile is not that decision.
The guide is not a template to adopt. Each heading stays blank until someone can point at the tool and the checker.
A New South Wales guide does not answer a Queensland or Victorian practising certificate.
Those checks apply across files. They are not an area of law and they are not settled by a software score.
Adoption, efficiency and governance are scored separately. The decision belongs to one task and one configuration.
Open the place you practise in, or the place named on the file. Each page lists the courts, tribunals, regulators and law society notes recorded there.
Published instruments. A secondary source is marked on the jurisdiction page it links to.
Law Society of NSW — Hub page for the solicitor's guide. Read on 10 October 2026, the page defines artificial intelligence in general terms and says to read the full article on LSJ.com.au. It does not itself set out the conduct duties. The Society's January 2026 guide is a separate PDF.
Law Institute of Victoria — Law Institute of Victoria publishes “Artificial Intelligence Hub - Law Institute of Victoria”. Share your feedback to help us enhance our support on AI topics. Checked 2026-10-10. Read the linked page before relying on it.
QLS with LIV, LSSA, LSWA, ACT Law Society, LSNT and LST — Multi-society risk-assessment checklist for selecting and using AI tools.
Law Society of WA — Law Society of WA brief and AI Hub; separate brief on copyright and generative AI.
Law Society of South Australia — Resources, guidance, an implementation tool and templates for SA practitioners on AI and generative AI use.
Law Society of Tasmania — Law Society of Tasmania AI hub; republishes ART practice direction notice (Aug 2026).
These guides are separate pages. This start path links to them.
A plain-English list of decisions an Australian firm writes into its own generative AI policy. It is not a precedent to adopt, and it is not a law society template.
How to read a vendor’s Australian hosting claim, using the attributes this catalogue already records. Not a ranking, and not a finding that a tool is fit for a matter.

The society for the practising certificate. If the firm holds certificates in more than one state, open each state’s page. Do not treat one society’s guide as national law.
In a software assessment for one task. A catalogue profile is the vendor research. It is not the firm’s decision.
