Where this comes from
The official form is published by victimsofcrime.vic.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-23.
When to use it
Use this when an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander adult applicant chooses to give the Financial Assistance Scheme a cultural support plan with the assistance application. An existing plan can be uploaded instead if it has the professional contacts and goals the template requires, and those goals relate to the healing journey.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
The tool indexes the plan headings from the file and does not write the applicant's account of culture, family or the healing journey.
AI may
- Record whether an existing plan is already on the file and whether it names professional contacts and healing-journey goals.
- List the blank headings on the FAS template so the lawyer can see what is still missing.
AI must not
- Do not write the connection-to-community narrative, the healing-journey narrative, or the description of how a family or community member helps.
- Do not treat this plan as the application for assistance. The application is a separate form.
- Do not invent clan, language, mob, or community details.
The lawyer checks
- The template says an existing plan may be used instead, and that plan must have professional contacts and goals that relate to the healing journey.
- The opened adult PDF does not show a signature block. Do not add one.
- The templates page also links a short course at https://fas-cultural-support-plans.victimsofcrime.vic.gov.au/. That course was not opened.
- Health information stays in a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether any disclosure would be a notifiable breach under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
