Where this comes from
The official form is published by nsw.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-18.
When to use it
Use when acting for a person injured by a violent crime or modern slavery in NSW, a witness to a violent crime, or a family member of someone who died because of a violent crime or road crime, who wants support from the Victims Support Scheme.
Used for these tasks
- Prepare the application to a state victims support scheme
- Index the police, medical and counselling records for a victims' application
- Build the expenses and income loss schedule for a financial assistance claim
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may index the police, medical and counselling records and build the expenses schedule for the lawyer to check; the victim's account of the violence and its impact is taken by the lawyer in the victim's own words.
AI may
- Index police, medical and counselling records with dates and sources
- Build the expenses and income loss schedule from receipts and payslips, for the lawyer to check
- Check the application is complete for the victim's category and list missing documents
AI must not
- Must not write the victim's account of the violence or its impact
- Must not decide which category of support applies or whether a time limit has passed
- Must not process the victim's records in a tool not approved for sensitive information
The lawyer checks
- The victim fits the scheme: injured by violent crime or modern slavery, a witness, or a family member of someone who died from violent or road crime
- The support sought and the time limit for the victim's situation checked on the scheme page
- Supporting documents attached and the account in the victim's own words
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
