When to use it
Use when the NSW scheme asks for more evidence or information about an application. Answer promptly; an application lapses if requested evidence is not provided within 12 months of the first request.
Used for these tasks
- Respond to a scheme's request for further information
- Index the police, medical and counselling records for a victims' application
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may match each requested item to documents on file and fill the table; the lawyer decides what to provide and checks every enclosure.
AI may
- List each item in the scheme’s request and match it to documents on file
- Fill the reference, dates and the enclosures table
AI must not
- Must not draft, summarise or outline the victim’s own account of the violence or its impact
- Must not add statements about the victim’s injuries or circumstances that are not in the records
- Must not send the letter
The lawyer checks
- Every requested item is answered or explained
- Enclosures contain only what the client has agreed to provide
- The 12-month lapse date is diarised
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
