Where this comes from
The official form is published by victimsofcrime.vic.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-18.
When to use it
Use when acting for a victim of violent crime in Victoria who is applying to the Financial Assistance Scheme, or when the victim wants to nominate a lawyer or other person to apply for them.
Used for these tasks
- Prepare the application to a state victims support scheme
- Index the police, medical and counselling records for a victims' application
- Build the expenses and income loss schedule for a financial assistance claim
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may index records and build the expenses schedule for the lawyer to check; the victim's account is taken by the lawyer in the victim's own words, and the nomination is the victim's decision.
AI may
- Index police, medical and counselling records with dates and sources
- Build the expenses and loss schedule from receipts, for the lawyer to check
- Check the application is complete and list missing documents
AI must not
- Must not write the victim's account of the crime or its impact
- Must not complete the nomination for the victim
- Must not process the victim's records in a tool not approved for sensitive information
The lawyer checks
- The victim has authorised the lawyer or another person to apply on their behalf, if that is the arrangement
- Language, cultural or Marra Yattakunar assistance offered where it would help
- Supporting documents attached and the account in the victim's own words
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
