Used for these tasks
- Build the expenses and income loss schedule for a financial assistance claim
- Index the police, medical and counselling records for a victims' application
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may list receipts, invoices and records and total the amounts; the lawyer checks each item against the documents and the scheme’s categories.
AI may
- List each receipt or invoice with date, provider, amount and category
- Index the police, medical, dental and counselling records with dates and authors
- Total the amounts claimed
AI must not
- Must not draft, summarise or outline the victim’s own account of the violence or its impact
- Must not estimate amounts without a receipt, invoice or employer statement
- Must not process health records outside the firm’s approved environment
The lawyer checks
- Every item has the substantiation s 39(4) requires
- The police or agency report and the medical, dental or counselling report meet s 39(2)
- Items are in categories the scheme allows and within its limits
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
