When to use it
Use when opening a USCIS benefit-request file or when gathering documents for a request already filed. Do not use it as a declaration, an affidavit, or a form the client swears.
Used for these tasks
- Reconcile a visa evidence pack with successful uploads
- Check translated documents are paired and complete
- Build a status chronology for a person who may be out of status
- Draft a client declaration or interview-question list from the facts
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
A tool may list documents the client has already handed in and mark which intake questions have no answer.
AI may
- Build a row per document, with the date on the document
- Flag a foreign-language document that has no English translation in the file
- Copy the benefit-request receipt number if it is printed on a notice in the file
AI must not
- Must not add a declaration, a jurat, or the words of a sworn statement
- Must not tell the client which benefit to seek
- Must not invent a form number
- Must not state that the client is eligible
The lawyer checks
- The list is unsigned
- Eligibility is recorded as a question for the lawyer, with the filing date
- Every foreign-language document is paired with a full translation or marked missing
- The lawyer chooses the benefit request. The tool does not.
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
