When to use it
Use when a lot owner or occupier has asked a Queensland body corporate for approval to keep an animal, or when the committee is recording its decision. The decision and any reasons are written by the committee.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may record the date the request was received and whether the by-law is prohibitive, permissive or absent. It must not approve or refuse the animal.
AI may
- Enter the date the written request was received and the 21-day and 6-week dates
- Note whether the community management statement contains an animal by-law, and quote it
- List conditions already written in the by-law
AI must not
- Must not decide to approve or refuse the animal
- Must not decide that a by-law is invalid
- Must not draft the reasons for refusal or a statement about the animal's behaviour
The lawyer checks
- The by-law is read from the community management statement before a path is chosen
- A guide, hearing or assistance dog is not put through the approval request
- Deemed approval is applied only on the periods the page states
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
