When to use it

Use when a head contractor or principal is checking a Queensland building contract against the published trust account framework. Eligibility is not decided from the dollar figures alone.

Used for these tasks

Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.

How AI may be used

AI may enter the contract price and the account details from the documents. It must not decide that a project trust is required.

AI may

  • Enter the contract price, the parties and the bank account details from the documents
  • List the categories of work named in the scope against the project trust work list
  • Flag a contract at or above a published dollar figure that has no trust record in the file

AI must not

  • Must not decide that more than 50 per cent of the price is project trust work
  • Must not decide that the contract is an eligible Queensland Government contract or a private contract
  • Must not draft a trust notice or a trust account review report

The lawyer checks

  • Eligibility is checked with the QBCC trust account tool or the planning guidance, not from the two dollar figures alone
  • A separate project trust is recorded for each eligible contract, and only one retention trust where that is what the page allows
  • The review timing is taken from the trust account reviews page, which was not used here

Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
