Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
A certification is a written statement to the Tribunal. The person who makes it writes and signs it. AI may assemble the facts that person will certify. It does not make the certification.
AI may
- Assemble the tool name, the part of the document, and the checks already recorded, for the person who will certify
- Leave the name and date blank
AI must not
- Must not sign or date the certification
- Must not certify unless the Tribunal has required it or the document requires a certification
- Must not treat the definition as a prescribed form of words
The lawyer checks
- The Tribunal has required certification, or the particular document requires it
- The statement covers disclosure, explanation and verification, and names the person and the date
- The person can say what tool was used, how, and for what purpose, as paragraph 2.6 expects
- Verification was independent. Paragraph 2.4(f) says a tool must not be the only check of its own output
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
