Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the date the lawyer says the worker was advised, and the date the written decision was received, count 20 business days for a reasons request and 3 months for a review application. List whether the decision is one of the reviewable examples on the WorkSafe page. Do not write the application. If a review decision has already been received, also count 20 business days for a Form 9 appeal.
- What the lawyer must review
- Decide whether the decision is reviewable. Not every decision is.
- A failure to fund one medical procedure is not a review on the page opened.
- Some appeals go to an Industrial Magistrate under s 548A(2), not the Commission.
- The lawyer decides whether to ask for more time. The tool does not.

Stop and hand it back when
- The decision is about ongoing management or funding one procedure.
- The appeal body might be an Industrial Magistrate and Form 9 is about to be prepared.

The review is not a court process. The review officer does not re-investigate and does not request further information.
An Industrial Magistrate is the appeal body for the decisions QIRC lists under s 548A(2), including certain s 540(1)(a)(i) to (vi) decisions and a non-reviewable decision. Form 67 is filed in the Magistrates Court.
A further appeal to the Industrial Court is 21 days from the Commission's or Industrial Magistrate's decision, on the pages opened.
