When to use it
Use when a creditor will file a proof of claim in a federal bankruptcy case. Complete Official Form 410 itself. Do not put the claim amount only in this letter. Check the bar date against the chapter and any court order before the letter goes out.
Used for these tasks
- Assemble a creditor proof-of-debt evidence pack
- Build a creditor schedule from books and proofs of debt
- Review proofs of debt and draft the dividend schedule
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may list enclosures from the documents the lawyer marks. The lawyer fixes the amount, the chapter, the bar date, and who signs Official Form 410.
AI may
- Build the enclosure list from the contract, invoices, and lien documents the lawyer marks
- Copy the debtor's name and case number from the notice the lawyer provides
- Flag a dollar figure in the letter that is not also on the official form
AI must not
- Must not complete, sign, or file Official Form 410
- Must not choose the bar date or decide that a claim is allowed
- Must not send the letter or the form
The lawyer checks
- The amount, the as-of date, and the enclosures match Official Form 410
- The timing row matches the chapter, and a chapter 9 or 11 bar date has been taken from the rule or order that actually sets it
- Account numbers and health information are redacted as the Form 410 instructions require
