Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Extract the diagnosis, the body part, the assessor and the permanent impairment figure from the reports the lawyer supplies. The tool does not decide whether the injury is significant, and it does not apply a transport-accident or workplace guide.
- What the lawyer must review
- Use the A.M.A. Guides (Fourth Edition) other than Chapter 15, as modified under the Part.
- An approved medical practitioner or a Medical Panel assessment is required. The tool's extract is not that assessment.
- Keep the reports in a firm-controlled tool. Apply ASCR r 9, APP 11 and the notifiable-breach test.

The work product
Forum. Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic), Part VBA significant-injury assessment
Produce. A table of diagnoses and impairment figures with report references, for the lawyer's threshold check.
Have ready. Medical reports selected by the lawyer; Whether the claim is a Part VBA claim or an excluded scheme claim; The current section 28LB definition of the A.M.A. Guides.
Example of the limit. Illustrative example: A report states 6 per cent for a shoulder and uses a later edition. The table records the figure and the edition. The lawyer decides whether it can be used for a Part VBA threshold. The tool does not call the injury significant.
Stop and hand it back when
- The report does not state a permanent impairment figure.
- The claim is a transport-accident or workplace claim excluded by section 28LC.
