How AI is used
From the medical, payroll and correspondence records the lawyer supplies, extract dated facts into one table: event, symptoms, treatment, time off work, and notices already given. Each row cites the document. Do not fill gaps with an inference, and do not write a notice or a court document.
What the lawyer must review
  • Verify each fact against the source page before it is used.
  • Decide which scheme the facts belong to before any notice is prepared.
  • Use a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11 and any notifiable breach.

The work product

Forum. Queensland plaintiff personal injury file, before a notice or a proceeding

Produce. A dated fact table with a document cite on every row.

Have ready. Medical records; Payroll or payslips; Correspondence and any notice already sent; The scheme the lawyer has named, if any.

Example of the limit. Illustrative example: Three discharge summaries use two different injury dates. The table keeps both, each with its document, and leaves the controlling date blank.

Stop and hand it back when

  • A row has no document cite.
  • The output is being prepared as a document to file.

Health, wage and benefit records stay in a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a disclosure is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

A PIPA notice must be accompanied by the documents a regulation requires, and it authorises access to records. The fact base is not that notice.

If the product is used in a Supreme Court submission, Practice Direction 5 of 2025 requires the named practitioner to verify every reference. District Court Practice Direction 12 of 2025 is the matching direction opened for that court.
