When to use it
Use when a Victorian production will employ someone under 15 in film, television, radio, advertising, photography, modelling, or live entertainment, whether paid or voluntary. Do not use it as the licence application or the child information form. The Mandatory Code itself was not opened.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may place each child into the age row on the page and list the licence and supervision gaps. It must not copy medical information, or say a variation of the hours will be granted.
AI may
- Record whether a current entertainment licence names an employee representative with a Working with Children clearance, or a stated exemption
- Match a child's age to the film row or the live-entertainment row and copy that row's days, spread and hours
- Flag school-hours work that has no attendance exemption, and a baby under 12 weeks whose form is not identified
- List the supervision record that must be kept for 5 years, without copying a clearance number into an unapproved tool
AI must not
- Must not copy a child's medical information, or draft the child information form
- Must not say the employer may exceed the hours. Variation and school-hours exemption are separate applications and those pages were not opened
- Must not treat the Mandatory Code as read beyond the parts this employment page sets out
- Must not employ, or describe employing, a child under 15 without a licence as lawful
The lawyer checks
- The worker is under 15, the work is entertainment or advertising, and the licence is an entertainment licence that is still inside its one-year term
- The supervisor matches the age band, is at least 18, and holds a clearance unless the page's exemption applies
- The hours row matches film and stills, or live entertainment, and the 9 pm and school-day limits are applied where the page marks them
- A parent has been given the role, duties, hours and workplaces, and the medical form is held by the employer and not in this checklist
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
