Where this comes from
The official form is published by supremecourt.vic.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-23.
When to use it
Use this to start a party-party taxation in the Costs Court, before the summons for taxation is filed. Email the completed form to the address on the party-party costs page to obtain a hearing date.
Used for these tasks
- Build a draft bill from the time records and the disclosure
- List the matters a costs assessor may consider
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
The tool indexes the information-form fields from the order and the bill and does not sign the form or state the costs claimed.
AI may
- Copy the proceeding number, the parties and a short description of the costs order from the order already on the file.
- Diary that the form is submitted before filing, and list dates in the next two months when the filing party is unavailable.
AI must not
- Do not sign the form, and do not enter the professional charges, disbursements or total.
- Do not decide whether the matter is opposed, unopposed, ex parte or by consent.
- Do not state a hearing date. The hearing-return field is marked court use only.
The lawyer checks
- The form page says party-party proceedings initiated after 1 March 2016 are no longer listed in the monthly callover unless the Court otherwise directs.
- Email the completed form to costs.court@supcourt.vic.gov.au, which is the address printed on the party-party costs page, to get a hearing date.
- If the form says the respondent will be self-represented, the party-party page says the matter is listed for directions unless the applicant gives a special reason.
- The page says a fee is payable unless there is a fee waiver. The fee amount is not on this form.
- Health information stays in a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether any disclosure would be a notifiable breach under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
