Build a workplace-hazard register from the materials supplied
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- List each hazard the materials describe, where it is said to arise, and the control the materials already mention. Leave blank whether it is a recognized hazard under the statute.
- What the lawyer must review
- 29 U.S.C. § 654: each employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, and shall comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under the chapter. You decide whether anything on the list is a recognized hazard of that kind, and which standard, if any, applies. Do not treat a label such as stress or bullying as that finding. The register does not decide it. Formal Opinion 512: check each row against the material.
