Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may copy the notice type, the actions and the due date from the notice into the file. The lawyer decides the response and whether to seek review or more time.
AI may
- Enter the notice number, type, actions and due date from the document
- List the actions in the order they appear on the notice
- Flag a verbal direction that has no written confirmation on the file
AI must not
- Must not advise that the notice is invalid
- Must not state a penalty or a review period
- Must not draft the technical response or a clean-up method
The lawyer checks
- The type is one of the five the page lists, or it is a verbal direction
- The due date is the date on the notice
- A review or an extension is pursued on the current EPA page, which was not opened, and not from a period invented here
- A site management order is not treated as a remedial notice. The page distinguishes them
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
