Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may fill applicant, owner and property details from instructions the lawyer confirms; the lawyer decides whether a permit is required and lodges Form SR01.
AI may
- Enter the applicant, stock owner, person in charge and property details from the instructions
- Flag a missing property identification code for cattle, sheep, goats or pigs if the movement needs one
- Remind the lawyer of the seven-day lodgement stated on the travel-permits page
AI must not
- Must not decide that the movement is exempt
- Must not state the fee as current without the lawyer checking the page on the day
- Must not sign or lodge the form
The lawyer checks
- The route is in the stock route network and the movement is on foot
- The application is lodged with the local government at least seven days before travel, unless the lawyer has confirmed a different rule
- The fee is the fee published on the day. The page opened on 22 October 2026 stated an application fee of $169.95
- A grazing permit is a separate form if stock need spelling
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
