Where this comes from
The official form is published by tascat.tas.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-22.
When to use it
Use when an owner applies to TASCAT about a pet under section 36U. A refusal of consent under section 36S(1)(b) must be made within 14 days of the tenant's request. This form is not a termination or possession application. The table lists the respondent as Tenant/s. The lawyer checks who the respondent is. The tool does not write the application.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may check which of the three pet rows applies and whether the 14-day date is on the file. The lawyer writes the application and checks every answer before it is lodged.
AI may
- Record the row the lawyer has chosen: refusal of consent, withdrawal of consent, or an order where no request was made
- List the date the tenant's request was given, where the 14-day row is used
- Flag that the same Word file is also linked for residential park applications on this page
AI must not
- Must not draft the reasons for refusal, withdrawal, or an order about the animal
- Must not draft the owner's notice to the tenant
- Must not use this form as a termination or possession application
- Must not treat the file name as a form number or as a commencement date
- Must not sign or lodge the application
The lawyer checks
- The application is one of the three section 36U rows, effective 20 March 2026
- A refusal under section 36S(1)(b) is within 14 days of the tenant's request
- A withdrawal application shows that the owner notified the tenant of the intention and the reasons
- The respondent column says Tenant/s. The lawyer checks who the respondent is
- The file name 260504-General-application-September-26-revised is not a form number. The Word file was not opened
- The court's or tribunal's current index is checked before assuming a generative-AI practice direction applies. None was stated on the page opened for this guide.
