Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
Both notes require an affidavit or witness statement to be sworn or finalised in the person's own knowledge and words. The lawyer writes that document. AI may keep the verification record the notes say the Court user must be prepared to explain.
AI may
- Record which portion was produced using AI, which tool, and how a person checked it
- List the verification items in SC GEN 25 paragraph 7.4 or PNCCV 1-2026 paragraph 6.4
- Mark a public-tool input that includes confidential or suppressed information for the lawyer
AI must not
- Must not generate the affidavit, witness statement or expert opinion
- Must not treat one AI tool as confirmation of another AI tool's content
- Must not use the Supreme Court paragraph numbers for a County Court document, or the reverse
- Must not add a disclosure certificate either note does not require, unless the Court directs further information
The lawyer checks
- The sworn or affirmed document reflects the person's own knowledge and words
- References to cases, legislation, textbooks and articles were checked against a source known to be accurate
- The expert report follows the code or practice note named in the relevant footnote. Those instruments were not opened
- A direction under SC GEN 25 paragraph 7.5 or PNCCV 1-2026 paragraph 6.5 can be answered from the record
