When to use it
Use when a union official attends and produces, or is asked to produce, an entry notice or an exemption certificate and an entry permit. State and territory work health and safety entry rules are a separate question. The Fair Work Act sections were not opened.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
AI may copy the permit number, the dates and the stated purpose from the notice or certificate the principal supplies.
AI may
- Copy the holder's name, the permit number and the stated purpose from the document
- Calculate whether the notice time falls between 24 hours and 14 days before the visit and show the arithmetic
AI must not
- Must not decide that the entry is lawful
- Must not tell the site to refuse or delay entry
- Must not treat a work health and safety entry as if it followed only this page
The lawyer checks
- The notice is in writing, was given in working hours, and is at least 24 hours and not more than 14 days before the visit, unless an exemption certificate or the textile, clothing and footwear rules on the page apply
- The permit is current on the Commission's register and has not expired for a reason the page states
- The site response does not hinder a permit holder who has followed the rules, and does not refuse a lawful request for records
