- Draft the request from the points the lawyer has settled, and leave the date and the address as blanks taken from the notice. Do not state a deadline.
- What the lawyer must review
- 20 C.F.R. § 404.967: the Appeals Council may deny or dismiss the request for review, or it may grant the request and either issue a decision or remand the case to an administrative law judge. The Appeals Council shall notify the parties at their last known address of the action it takes. You check every sentence before the request is sent. The time to request review is in another section. Open that section, and do not write a number that § 404.967 does not state. This is the Title II rule. Open the supplemental-security-income rule if that is the benefit. Formal Opinion 512: you remain responsible for the request.
