Assemble a permanent impairment lump-sum claim
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the injury dates, the body systems and any earlier assessment the lawyer marks, using a firm-controlled tool, list the lump-sum gate, the one-assessment rule and the documents still missing. Do not calculate the dollar amount or choose the injuries to claim.
- What the lawyer must review
- Decide which impairments are claimed and whether a further assessment is still open.
- Apply that state's threshold, and do not combine a physical and a psychological score unless the page says to.
- Check exempt workers and dust or coal claims before using the ordinary threshold.
- Health and wage records stay in a firm-controlled tool. Apply ASCR r 9, APP 11, and the notifiable-breach test.

Who does what
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Assistance | From the injury dates, the body systems and any earlier assessment the lawyer marks, using a firm-controlled tool, list the lump-sum gate, the one-assessment rule and the documents still missing. Do not calculate the dollar amount or choose the injuries to claim. |
| Lawyer | Set the scope, supervise the work closely, verify every part relied on, resolve omissions and exceptions, and approve the exact output. |
Checklist
- Record any earlier assessment and what it was paid for before treating a further claim as open.
- Keep primary psychological impairment separate from physical impairment unless the opened page says to combine them.
- Do not calculate the dollar figure. The regulation or the benefits guide table in force on the day is the lawyer's check.
- Mark an exempt worker, a coal miner or a dust-disease claim before applying the ordinary New South Wales threshold.

This is the statutory lump sum. It is not the common-law damages gateway.
The SIRA guide's narrative says 'over 10 per cent' and Table 34 says 11 per cent for a physical injury. Report both and do not smooth them into a different figure.
If health or wage records leave the firm-controlled tool, decide whether a Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) breach is notifiable.
