- How AI is used
- From the documents the lawyer has already selected — the police narrative and application, medical records, photographs, message exports, tenancy records and earlier orders — draft a dated chronology with a source reference for every entry, and a document index beside it.
- What the lawyer must review

| Assistance | From the documents the lawyer has already selected — the police narrative and application, medical records, photographs, message exports, tenancy records and earlier orders — draft a dated chronology with a source reference for every entry, and a document index beside it. |
| Lawyer | The lawyer confirms each date and reference against the document itself, decides which incidents fall within the relevant period, and removes anything that may not be used. |
Checklist
- Open each source document and confirm the date, the author and the page reference against the chronology entry; correct any date taken from a file name or from a message timestamp recorded in a different time zone.
- Check that message and social-media exports are complete and in sequence, and reject any entry resting on a screenshot whose sender or date cannot be established.
- Check every medical, counselling, child-protection or subpoenaed record in the set for a restriction on its use before it is summarised, and remove what has not been cleared.
- Confirm no version of the chronology that will be filed or served records the protected person's current address, workplace, school or telephone details.
- Mark the entries that rest only on the client's recollection so they are not later treated as documented.
