How AI is used
From documents the lawyer supplies — the proposed order, the client's licences and employment details, tenancy and visa documents and any current parenting orders — extract a table of the client's present arrangements and flag where a proposed condition cuts across one of them. The tool does not write the advice and does not write a condition.
What the lawyer must review
The lawyer gives the advice, decides what each condition means for this client, identifies the licensing, screening, employment, immigration, tenancy and parenting consequences, and records the instruction that follows.

Checklist

  1. Read the proposed conditions against where the client actually lives, works, worships and collects the children from, and identify every condition the client would breach on the way home from court.
  2. Check the firearms or weapons licence consequence in this jurisdiction, including any disqualification that runs on after the order ends and whether a police-issued notice or direction carries the same consequence before any court has ruled.
  3. Check the working-with-children, teaching, health practitioner, security and employment screening consequences, any reporting obligation to a regulator or employer, and the immigration and character consequences where the client is not a citizen — and refer out what is beyond your competence.
  4. Check the proposed conditions against every current parenting order and decide whether the court must be asked to deal with the inconsistency, rather than leaving the client with two orders that cannot both be obeyed.
  5. Record that the order is proposed without admissions, that consent is not an admission of the allegations, and that breach is a criminal offence — and record the client's instruction in the client's own words.
