Draft a workplace policy suite from the employer's instructions
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Draft each policy from the instruction the lawyer marks for it, with a square-bracket gap for any rule the employer has not given.
- What the lawyer must review
- Check every policy before it is issued. There is no single federal statute that supplies a workplace handbook. Where a policy touches hiring, pay, promotion, discipline or an AI tool used in those decisions, the EEOC's 29 April 2024 explainer says the federal employment-discrimination statutes apply, including to a neutral practice with an unjustifiable disparate impact. You open the statute for the characteristic in issue, and any state law on that topic. Formal Opinion 512: you remain responsible for the text. Model Rule 1.6: do not put the employer's materials into a public tool.
