| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Assistance | Supporting preparation only. Assemble the document schedule and, under the lawyer's direction, work up the question set from the issues table; then compare the report against the documents it cites and against the chronology, and list each conclusion whose stated factual basis does not appear in the record. The tool writes nothing into the document. Substantive advice, judgement and any restricted content remain with the responsible human. |
| Lawyer | Perform the substantive analysis and decisions. Independently check any permitted supporting work and approve the exact output for its intended use. |
Checklist
- Confirm the order or retainer under which the assessment is made, and what the assessor may and may not be asked in this jurisdiction.
- Check the document schedule for completeness and for anything that must not be provided, including protected records and a reporter's or notifier's identity.
- Trace each conclusion in the report to the document or interview cited for it, and list the conclusions that rest only on the department's account.
- Check the report's history section against the chronology and list every date, placement or event it has wrong.
- Confirm whether the assessor used any AI tool, on what material, and whether the report discloses it.
