When to use it
Use when a complaint has been made, or may be made, to OMARA about a registered migration agent, and the file needs the published steps and outcome types.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
The tool may record the stage and set out the outcome types the page lists, and the lawyer decides what the complaint shows and what to do next.
AI may
- Record the date OMARA emailed that the complaint was received.
- Record which of the three post-investigation courses the page lists is being discussed.
- Set out caution, suspension, cancellation and bar only as the page describes them.
- Note a referral to Home Affairs, police, or a legal services commissioner as a possible course, not as a finding.
AI must not
- Do not say which outcome OMARA will impose.
- Do not describe the Code of Conduct. The page links it and that page was not opened.
- Do not treat a bar and a cancellation as the same. The page distinguishes them.
- Do not draft the complaint or the agent's answer.
The lawyer checks
- Re-read the outcomes page before an outcome type is explained. It was last updated on 18 August 2026 when read.
- Open the Code of Conduct before any breach is described. It was not opened.
- Confirm whether the agent is registered, suspended, cancelled or a former agent. The page's rows differ.
- Do not treat the public decisions list as read. That portal was not opened.
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
