When to use it

Use when a project needs a current extract of claims, determinations, ILUAs and future act entries over an area. It is a copy of the search, not advice on what the entries mean for the project.

Used for these tasks

Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.

How AI may be used

AI may copy fields from a register extract or Native Title Vision print into the schedule. It does not say what the entries mean.

AI may

  • Enter the name, tribunal number and status from an extract the lawyer supplies
  • Keep claimant applications that have not passed the registration test in the schedule row, separate from the Register of Native Title Claims
  • Flag an extract that has no search date

AI must not

  • Must not state that native title exists, has been extinguished, or does not affect the project
  • Must not treat a registered claim as a determination
  • Must not drop an overlapping application because it looks historical

The lawyer checks

  • Each of the three registers named on the NNTT page has been searched, or the reason it was not searched is recorded
  • The Schedule of Native Title Applications row includes applications that have not passed the registration test
  • The search date and the area description match the project the schedule is for
  • A conclusion about the project is written by the lawyer, outside this schedule

Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
