Use when acting for a patient, or for a parent, guardian or chosen representative, who complains to the Office of the Health Ombudsman about a Queensland health service, practitioner or facility.
Used for these tasks
Each task page says how far AI may help with the task and what the lawyer must review.
How AI may be used
The tool may index the concerns and the records the lawyer has marked, and it writes nothing in the complaint or the signed acknowledgement.
AI may
- Index the concerns, dates and providers from the records, for the lawyer to check
- List documents that could be attached as copies
AI must not
- Must not write the complaint, what the complainant wants, or the acknowledgement
- Must not decide whether two years affects the complaint
- Must not send the complaint
The lawyer checks
- The complainant is someone the make-a-complaint page allows, or has the patient's authority
- The provider and the health service were in Queensland
- Anything the complainant does not want given to the named provider is identified before lodgement
- The signed acknowledgement and the offence warning are the complainant's
- The address used is the address printed on the complaint form
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
