Checklist
- The guide requires an application within 3 years of the act of violence, or by age 21 if the person was under 18 when the violence happened.
- The opened guide does not say a series is timed from the last act. Do not apply that rule.
- Extra time is only in special circumstances: physical or psychological effects, impaired capacity, age, the offender in a position of power, influence or trust, or other significant factors. Supporting information is required.
- If the application is late, the guide asks for an explanation and supporting information from a doctor, psychologist, counsellor, or domestic and family violence service. Writing that explanation is a different task.

The Act section that sets the application period was not opened. Section 124's 28 days is the internal-review period, not this one. Use the guide, and have the lawyer confirm the application section before reliance.
Do not convert the special-circumstances list into a grant of extra time.
Medical reports stay in a firm-controlled tool. ASCR r 9 and APP 11 apply, and a breach may be notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
