Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the facts the lawyer selects, list the Queensland Acts that may apply and the section the lawyer names. Do not decide eligibility, and do not calculate a deadline.
- What the lawyer must review
- Section 6 decides which pre-court Act applies, not a generic injury label
- Do not reduce section 237 to a 20 per cent rule
- A journey category on the WorkSafe page is not a decision
- The tool lists the Acts and does not decide eligibility

The work product
Forum. Queensland plaintiff personal injury intake, more than one Act possibly in play
Produce. A map of the Acts and the opened section that allocates each one. No eligibility finding and no deadline.
Have ready. How the injury happened, as the lawyer records it; Whether the lawyer says it is a motor accident, a work injury, or another incident.
Example of the limit. Illustrative example: The worker was injured by a machine made by another company. The map follows the section 6 example: workers' compensation procedures against the employer, and the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act against the designer. It does not say either claim succeeds.
Stop and hand it back when
- The facts do not show whether the injury is a work injury or a motor accident.
- The draft states that a gateway is met.

Checklist
- Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 section 6 applies to personal injury arising out of an incident, and then excludes an injury within the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 to which that Act applies, and a Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 injury to the extent chapter 5 regulates the entitlement to seek damages. The section's example is a machine designed by another company: the claim against the employer follows the workers' compensation pre-court procedures, and the claim against the designer follows the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act.
- Civil Liability Act 2003 section 5: the Act is not applied to deciding liability or awards for a workers' compensation injury within section 5(1)(b), other than the exceptions in that paragraph, which were not opened and are not described. Section 5(2) says it does not matter whether compensation is claimed. Section 5(3) keeps the Act for section 59A damages for a dust-related condition or a tobacco injury. It does not keep chapter 3 for a work injury.
- Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 section 237 is the damages gateway. It is not a rule that every worker must have a 20 per cent degree of permanent impairment. The National Injury Insurance Scheme is for motor accidents on or after 1 July 2016. Do not state the numerical eligibility tests.
- The WorkSafe journey page describes travel between home and work, travel for treatment on an existing claim, travel between jobs, and travel for work. An injury at home is not a started journey. The page gives no section number. Do not invent one, and do not decide eligibility.

A progress map must not put a Motor Accident Insurance Act section 37 date on an injury that section 6 allocates to workers' compensation pre-court procedures, or the reverse.
Civil Liability Act section 52B can bar damages for treatment, care and support needs of a National Injury Insurance Scheme participant. Section 52C was not opened.
