How AI is used
From the charter the lawyer supplies, fill rows for parties, vessel, voyage or period, hire, laytime and demurrage clauses if printed, and the law and arbitration clause. Quote; do not interpret.
What the lawyer must review
The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, set out in the note to 46 USC section 30701, states that its provisions shall not be applicable to charter parties, but that if bills of lading are issued under a charter they shall comply with the Act. Do not mark COGSA package limits or the one-year suit time as terms of the charter itself. Admiralty jurisdiction for a maritime contract is in 28 USC section 1333, with the saving-to-suitors clause. The table is an extract. Opinion 512: check the rows against the charter if a tool split them.
