Prepare the figures and notices for a demand from the contract and the ledger
Key facts

- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- From the contract and the ledger, extract the debtor, the creditor, the amount, the dates, and the clause the lawyer identifies. List the 15 U.S.C. § 1692g items only if the lawyer has marked the sender as a debt collector and the debt as a consumer debt. Write no sentence of the letter.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write and sign the demand. If the sender is a debt collector collecting a consumer debt, § 1692g requires a written notice within five days of the initial communication, unless the notice is in that communication or the consumer has already paid, stating the amount, the current creditor, the thirty-day dispute statement, the verification statement, and the original-creditor statement. Section 1692a(6) defines a debt collector as a person whose principal purpose is collecting debts, or who regularly collects debts owed another, with exclusions you must read. A creditor collecting its own commercial debt is not automatically in that definition. A formal pleading is not an initial communication under § 1692g(d).
