How AI is used
List the carrier, the date, the places named, and whether the file describes baggage, cargo, or delay. Do not state a notice period, a time bar, or a damages figure, and do not write the claim.
What the lawyer must review
You write the claim after you open the instrument that governs it. Congress.gov Treaty Document 106-45 is the Senate transmittal of September 6, 2000. It identifies the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air, done at Montreal on May 28, 1999, and it discusses a proposed Article 57(a) declaration. On the pages read it does not set out the notice periods or a damages cap. Do not take a period from that transmittal. 14 CFR Part 260 is a refund rule for a covered carrier on a cancelled or significantly delayed or changed flight to, from, or within the United States, and for certain bag and ancillary fees. It is not a claim under the Convention. Model Rule 1.4(b) requires you to explain that the period has not been taken from the Convention text. You open that text before you send a notice or file a claim.
