List administration steps for a letter to beneficiaries
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the file, list the letters date, whether an inventory is in the file, and whether a creditor notice is in the file, each with the page. Write no sentence of the letter.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write the letter. Probate Code § 8800(a) requires an inventory and appraisal, combined in one document, and § 8800(b) requires filing within four months after letters to a general personal representative unless the court allows further reasonable time. Section 9050(a) requires notice of administration to known or reasonably ascertainable creditors, in addition to publication under § 8120. A step on this list is a fact about the file. It is not a promise to a beneficiary until you put it in the letter.
