Take the victim’s own account of the crime and its impact
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Index the records so the lawyer can sit with the victim. Write no part of the account.
- What the lawyer must review
- The account is the victim’s. You take it. Nothing the tool writes goes into the application, a statement or a submission to the program or the court. Model Rule 1.6 bars putting the account into a public tool. Opinion 512 is the same confidentiality duty. If the account will be used in a federal criminal case, 18 U.S.C. § 3771 gives the victim a right to be reasonably heard at specified proceedings and a right to be treated with fairness and respect for dignity and privacy. Those rights do not authorise a generated narrative.
