- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Fill administrative fields on the program’s form from the index and the schedule the lawyer has checked. Leave the victim’s description of the crime blank.
- What the lawyer must review
- You and the victim complete the form the state program prescribes. Eligibility, the deadline and the cap are in that program’s statute and instructions, not in 34 U.S.C. § 20102. Section 20102(b) is the federal condition for a grant to the state, including compensation for non-residents on the same criteria as residents, and compensation for federal crimes in the state on the same basis as state crimes. The victim’s account of the violence stays in the victim’s words. Opinion 512 and Model Rule 1.6: do not put the file into a public tool.
