How AI is used
Extract each fact the victim gives about danger from notice of release or escape, with the date and the person at risk. Do not decide that notice must be withheld.
What the lawyer must review
18 U.S.C. § 3771(a)(1) gives a crime victim the right to be reasonably protected from the accused. Subsection (c)(3) provides that notice of release otherwise required pursuant to the chapter shall not be given if such notice may endanger the safety of any person. You decide whether the facts meet that limit and what is said to the prosecutor. 34 U.S.C. § 20102(b)(2) is a different safety rule: an eligible compensation program promotes cooperation with reasonable requests of law enforcement, except if the program determines cooperation may be impacted by age, physical condition, psychological state, cultural or linguistic barriers, or any other health or safety concern that jeopardizes the victim's wellbeing.
