How AI is used
List which of the section 1798.100(a) items the current notice does not state: categories, purposes, sale or sharing, sensitive-information categories, and retention. Write no replacement notice and no chatbot label.
What the lawyer must review
Section 1798.100(a) requires the notice at or before collection. A chatbot that collects personal information does not change that duty, and no opened statute adds a separate chatbot label. Subsection (c) still requires collection and use to be reasonably necessary and proportionate to the disclosed purpose. You decide whether the current notice is enough and you write any replacement. Opinion 512 and Model Rule 1.6: prompts can contain personal information.
