Build a land-use application checklist from the agency's published list
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Turn the agency's published application list into a checklist with a blank for each item and a note of anything the project description does not yet answer.
- What the lawyer must review
- California Government Code section 65940 requires each public agency to compile a list that specifies in detail the information required from an applicant for a development project, and to make that list available to applicants. The checklist is that list, plus any item the ordinance adds under the zoning power in Government Code section 65850. Do not invent a "complete application" from a generic template. Opinion 512: a generated list of submittals is not a substitute for the agency's current list.
