Leave the worker's witness statement for the lawyer to write
Key facts

- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Write nothing. Do not prepare a heading, a paragraph, or the closing words of a witness statement or of a declaration. List only the names of the injury records already in the file.
- What the lawyer must review
- 28 U.S.C. § 1746 allows an unsworn declaration under penalty of perjury, in the form that section sets out, where federal law would otherwise call for a sworn writing. You write the statement. If the file is a federal civilian or maritime employment claim, 5 U.S.C. § 8102 and 33 U.S.C. § 905 are the compensation statutes that were opened. They are not a script for the statement.
