Extract the lien, cesser, and arbitration clauses from a charter
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Quote each clause the lawyer marks, with its heading and page. Add no advice on whether the clause is enforceable.
- What the lawyer must review
- The extract is the charter text. The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, in the statutory note to 46 USC section 30701, does not apply to charter parties, though a bill of lading issued under a charter party must comply once it regulates the relations between the carrier and a holder. A written arbitration clause in a maritime transaction is valid, irrevocable, and enforceable under 9 USC section 2, save on grounds that exist for the revocation of any contract, or as chapter 4 provides. Chapter 4 was not opened. Admiralty jurisdiction is 28 USC section 1333. You read the clause before anyone relies on the extract.
