Filing or approval does not itself give immigration status. A spouse petition also requires Form I-130A. The policy manual says each foreign birth certificate must include a certified English translation. You decide what else the current instructions require. USCIS changed the mail filing location on 7 October 2026 and said it would accept forms postmarked on or before 9 November 2026 at a prior location. Do not send originals unless the instructions say so. The petitioner must select only one of adjustment of status or consular processing.
