List the facts for a facility incident notice
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- List the resident, the allegation, the time it was formed, and whether the notes record serious bodily injury. Do not write the notice.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write the notice. For a facility covered by 42 CFR § 483.12, the reporting times are those in that section: immediately, and not later than 2 hours where the events involve abuse or serious bodily injury, otherwise not later than 24 hours. You confirm the facility is covered before you use the times. No Joint Commission or hospital sentinel-event rule was opened. Do not call the notice by that name. 45 CFR § 164.502 still limits what the notice may contain. Formal Opinion 512 applies to the chart.
