Record support-person and separate-session facts and write no examination bar

- How AI is used
- Record whether the file states allegations or threats of domestic violence, and whether it contains a protective order. Write no request that personal examination be barred, and write no hearing script.
- What the lawyer must review
- No statute opened for this task bars one party from examining the other. Family Code section 6303(a) describes a support person, chosen by the person who alleges domestic violence, with no certification required. The support person is not a legal adviser and shall not give legal advice. Subsection (b) permits the support person to accompany either party to a proceeding to obtain a protective order, as defined in section 6218, which was not opened, and, if the party is unrepresented, to sit at the party table. Subsection (c) permits a support person to accompany a protected party at mediation orientation or a mediation session, including a separate session, in a proceeding described in section 3021, which was not opened, if a protective order has issued. A mediator may exclude the support person if that person participates, acts as an advocate, or disrupts the mediation. Subsection (d) permits accompaniment in court where there are allegations or threats of domestic violence. Subsection (e) leaves the court power to remove a person. California Rule of Court 5.215(c)(6) requires a Family Court Services mediator, counselor, evaluator, or investigator to meet the parties separately and at separate times when there has been a history of domestic violence or a protective order as defined in section 6218 is in effect, and the party who alleges domestic violence in a written declaration under penalty of perjury, or who is protected by the order, requests it. That is a Family Court Services session rule. It is not a rule of examination at a hearing. Sections 3113 and 3181, which the rule points to for further options, were not opened. You arrange attendance. The tool writes no request. Opinion 512.
