Turn the arrangements sheet into a checklist of time, decision-making, travel and exchange points. Write no order.
What the lawyer must review
You write every order that will be filed or signed. If California law applies, Family Code § 3020 makes the health, safety and welfare of the child the court's primary concern in custody and visitation, and frequent contact with both parents yields when it conflicts with that safety. Section 3044 creates a rebuttable presumption that awarding sole or joint custody to a person who has perpetrated domestic violence within the previous five years is detrimental to the best interest of the child. The presumption is rebutted only by a preponderance of the evidence, and the court must address the factors in the section. Opinion 512: you do not file generated orders.
