How AI is used
From the record index, list the charges, the evidence the school gave, the student’s version, and the dates. The lawyer writes the submission that is sent to the district or board.
What the lawyer must review
For a suspension of 10 days or less, Goss v. Lopez requires notice of the charges, an explanation of the evidence if the student denies them, and an opportunity to present the student’s version. The Court did not itself create a board appeal for that short suspension. An expulsion or a longer removal is governed by the state education code and the district’s rules, which the lawyer opens. If the submission is later filed in court, Rule 11 applies and the lawyer writes the filing. Education records in the draft stay out of public tools under FERPA and Rule 1.6.
